Graduated from Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics with a Bachelor's degree in Laser Technology in 1985. In the same year, he was admitted to Changchun Institute of Optics, Precision Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences to study for a master's degree in solid state physics.

After graduating from graduate school in 1988, I stayed at the institute to work as an intern researcher.

In 1993, he obtained his doctoral degree in Optics from Sun Yat sen University and entered the Photobiology PhD Mobile Station at South China Normal University the same year, where he worked with Academician Liu Songhao on interdisciplinary research in optics and biology.

After leaving the station in 1995, I stayed at the school to work as an associate researcher.

Promoted to researcher in 2001. Meng Yaoyong has presided over and participated in multiple national "863", "973", National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation research projects. As the first author or corresponding author, he has published more than 50 academic papers and obtained one national patent. He has also participated in the writing of several academic works published by well-known publishing houses such as Science Press.
